Description

As a Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS), you can advance nursing practice, improve patient outcomes, lead continuous quality improvement and research, and promote professional development. You'll also oversee clinical integration and have the ability to further develop your specialized role within the SICU area. The Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) provides expert, integrated, cost effective, quality patient care through the coordination of care for high-risk patients with complex issues within the three spheres of influence: the patient and family members, nursing personnel and organizational systems. The CNS functions as an educator, consultant, mentor, researcher and is an active participant in the collaborative practice framework. The individual demonstrates leadership and role models this through involvement on committees and/or team projects and actively seeks to improve the practice of nursing and patient outcomes. The CNS promotes ethical standards throughout the organization. The CNS is active in professional organizations and participates in community activities. We offer Tuition Assistance up to $30,000.

Position Requirements

To qualify you must have a master’s degree as a Clinical Nurse Specialist, but we will consider RN’s with master’s degrees who are willing to complete a post-master’s CNS certificate within a year of hire. PA RN. Plan to obtain ANCC Certification as CNS. Nursing experience relative to specialty area.
