Description

The Digital Communications Specialist has responsibility for developing, implementation, maintaining, evaluating and recommending strategies for optimizing digital communication platforms to support organizational goals and strategic priorities, primarily focused on internal sites (SharePoint and the Online Communication Center). Other contributions may include digital medical staff/provider publications and communications, content on digital platforms, and mobile and social media platforms.

DEPARTMENT/INITIATIVE SHAREPOINT PLATFORM DEVELOPMENT AND SUPPORT: Works closely with those in department and IT to build and optimize digital technologies to improve communication across the health system and to support system goals and priorities.

(1) Provides project build support for Sharepoint expansion across Tower Health. Supports IT and Marketing/Communication Digital Platform Management for ongoing expansion of Sharepoint platform as communication and project management tools.

(2) Recommends technologies and approaches that support a global and comprehensive expansion of the Sharepoint platform as the foundation of the Tower Health communication strategy.

(3) Aligns departmental digital communication strategies with that of the organization, working in close collaboration with Sharepoint administrators across the system.

(4) Monitors Sharepoint sites to evaluate utilization, effectiveness, and opportunities for improvement.

ONLINE COMMUNICATION CENTER (OCC) MANAGEMENT/SUPPORT: Support Digital Platform and Marketing/Communication Management team in the ongoing maintenance and development of the Tower Health OCC (Intranet).

(1) Manages OCC web pages and parts to assure information is timely and relevant to strategic communications initiatives throughout Tower Health.

(2) Maintains link and web part functionality and addresses functionality issues timely and effectively in collaboration with IT.

(3) Audits pages and collaboration site content on the OCC to assure information is current and accurate.

(4) Establishes and implements accurate security settings for groups and individuals to access and update documents and content.

INTRANET EDUCATION SUPPORT: Engages and educates Tower Health personnel in the design, build, expansion, evaluation, and continuous improvement of the Sharepoint platform as a tool for system communication and collaboration. The Responsibility and Accountability 'meets standards' when:

(1) Elicits feedback periodically form leaders and staff regarding effectiveness of the OCC and departmental Sharepoint sites to identify opportunities for improvement and expansion.

(2) Recommends and implements strategies for optimizing intranet functionality to support organizational goals and strategic priorities.

(3) Educates staff and leaders to effectively use the intranet functions to optimize communication and information sharing.

(4) Evaluates and optimizes content and navigation to deliver the best user experience in the most technically efficient manner.

SYSTEM BRANDING: Assures that digital platforms are congruent with Tower Health organizational branding and present a professional image of the system and all related components. The Responsibility and Accountability 'meets standards' when:

(1) Demonstrates working knowledge of Tower Health brand and branding guidelines.

(2) Assures all internal and external digital platforms and communications conform with the Tower Health brand.

(3) Creates/utilizes branded templates to assure compliance with organizational guidelines.

READINGHEALTH.ORG WEBSITE SUPPORT: Supports the management of the content and design of readinghealth.org and other Reading Health System microsites. The Responsibility and Accountability 'meets standards' when:

(1) Engages staff and leadership to develop, update, and evaluate content throughout the Reading Health System.

(2) Assures website content and functionality is congruent with system branding guidelines.

(3) Analyzes utilization trends and identifies opportunities to improve accessibility and utilization.

(4)Evaluates and optimizes content and navigation to deliver the best user experience in the most technically efficient manner.

(5) Provides technical interface with RHS website vendor as directed by Digital Platform Manager and Communications/Marketing Directors.

Position Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field, such as communication and/or information technology required.
  • 3 years of experience with digital communication platform development, implementation, and maintenance, including build and content management on Sharepoint.
  • 3 years of experience with web content, usability, architecture, development, and design.
  • Experience with project management and working with teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, Editing, and Interpersonal Skills.
