Lead Cytotechnologist- Full Time- Day Shift

The Lead Cytotechnologist is responsible for performing, interpreting and promptly delivering prepared slides

and stains; following established policies and procedures; organizing work flow efficiently; ensuring the

accuracy, acceptability and confidentiality of test results; and assisting management in the organization and

direction of day to day operations of his/ her specific lab section.

Position Requirements

Education Requirements

* 4 year / Bachelor's Degree: Baccalaureate Degree in Cytotechnology or related science. (Required)

*Graduate of a CAAHEP accredited school of Cytotechnology, minimum 12 month program (Required)

Certification and Licensure Requirements

CT(ASCP) (Preferred) *Note: ASCP certification earned on or after January 1, 2004 signifies the employee

must enroll in the Certification Maintenance program of the ASCP to use the Cytotechnologist credential.

Cytotechnologists formerly designated CT ASCP who do not maintain certification, as designated by the

superscript CM next to their CT credential, CTcm, will not be recognized as certified and will be demoted, until

such time as their certification is reinstated, to the job description and commensurate pay grade of non

certified Cytotechnologist. (Required) (IAC certification can be substituted for the ASCP certification)

Experience and Skills

1-3 years hospital or private laboratory experience (Preferred)
