Monitor Technician - CMR - Part-Time (48 hours biweekly) - 11pm-7:30am

Description The Monitor Technician performs high-level on-going patient surveillance and provides nursing/clinicians with immediate notification of any changes in cardiac rate/rhythm. Responsible for monitoring, recording, and reporting heart rhythm from patient cardiac monitors, seizure and fall risk activity for patients with orders of telemetry, and general patient observation. Initiates and discontinues monitoring equipment on admission, transfer, or discharge. Conducts maintenance and troubleshooting related to the monitoring equipment on the patient to ensure equipment is in working order to allow for clear monitoring.
Position Requirements Education Requirements
*High School Diploma or GED (Required)
*Successful completion of in-house telemetry course must be completed prior to end of orientation. (Required)

Certification and Licensure Requirements
*CPR certification must be completed during orientation. (Required)

Experience and Skills
*At least 6 months of healthcare experience. (Required)
*Prior monitoring experience in a physician's office, clinic, hospital, or similar setting. (Preferred)
*Required Skills: Knowledge of basic anatomy/physiology of the heart. Ability to communicate effectively with staff, clinicians, and patients. Must be able to work under moderate pressure for extended periods of time. Ability to provide accurate, clear, and timely interpretation and dissemination of information to members of the healthcare team.

Special Notes Every other weekend and rotating holidays required. A generous shift differential and weekend differential are included.
