Patient Service Representative - Sleep Center - Per Diem

Description The Patient Services Representative is responsible for patient registration, scheduling, customer service and clerical support. Duties include accepting, recording and verifying insurance information, processing preauthorization requests, collecting copays and account balance payments, scanning documents into EMR and other administrative tasks related to the efficient operations of the department. Incumbents must ensure contact with patients, families, the community, vendors, coworkers and physicians is carried out in a friendly, courteous, helpful and considerate manner. The Patient Services Representative is also expected to complete other responsibilities in an accurate and timely manner as needed or assigned.
Position Requirements High School Diploma or GED is required. Experience using an electronic medical record and billing system is preferred. Experience working in a related field or position is preferred. Excellent customer service skills and strong clerical skills required. Must be able to multi-task, utilize telephone systems, work under stress, work independently, accomplish daily activities with little supervision, be organized and detail-oriented, and type proficiently.
Full-Time/Part-Time Per Diem
Special Notes Hours between 7am-9:30pm. Occasional weekend evenings may be required. A generous per diem premium is included on top of base.
