Overview

Your leadership as Applications Manager will be vital in driving the evolution of the electronic health record. Your contributions may include:

  • Initiating and achieving change by fearlessly challenging the status quo, planning, and creative problem solving.
  • Cultivating strong relationships enterprise-wide and advancing redesign and standardization of technology.
  • Leading and developing an established team of talented professionals to enhance and support assigned applications. Playing a major role in staffing allocation, performance appraisals, and pay reviews of staff.
  • Evaluating, planning, coordinating, and supervising activities related to the design, development, implementation and maintenance of assigned applications.
  • Delivering solutions that ensure compatibility and integration with hospital strategies and business plans while establishing standards and guidelines for improving the applications development process.
  • Establishing effective communication across technical and non-technical departments to identify key plan tasks and due dates. Participating in planning and managing project schedules and budget and ensuring that technical projects follow those plans.
Position Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree is required. Master’s degree is preferred.
  • At least 1-3 years of experience in healthcare management or leading teams in operations or IT is required with an understanding of a broad cross-section of clinical or revenue cycle processes and data/terminology. 3 or more years of management experience is preferred.
  • Experience with any major HIT vendor (Epic, Siemens/Cerner, McKesson, MEDITECH, etc.). Epic experience a plus.
  • An understanding of systems development life cycle required. Proven ability to understand, analyze, design, and problem solve process/workflow and develop creative solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to listen to and understand the needs of different groups, make persuasive presentations, inspire employees, effectively negotiate with a wide variety of stakeholders, sell ideas, influence others, and lead change in a collegial manner.
  • Ability and proven success in effectively interacting and building relationships with individuals at all levels (direct reports, peer level, C-suite, providers, department leaders, vendors, etc.).
  • Track record of strong customer focus. Collaboration and consensus building are key for this position.
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to convey information clearly, accurately, and timely in consideration of audience and medium. Proficiency with MS Office suite required.
  • Understanding of or experience with lean methodology and/or continuous improvement helpful.
  • Strong organizational and critical thinking skills with demonstrated attention to detail.
