Description

The Clinical Research Director will provide leadership and technical assistance for clinical and translational research endeavors. The Director will supervise the Clinical Research Office Team to assure success in clinical research efforts. The Director will assure high level performance by the research unit and effective quality assurance/quality Control.

The Director will support the Chief Academic Officer in developing a research agenda and partnering with key investigators within Reading Hospital, as well as at external collaborative sites. The Director will review potential research ideas and provide advice regarding protocol development and potential funding sources. The Director will advise internal stakeholders regarding the scientific merit of potential studies. The Director will foster and support collaboration between the investigator, clinical staff and research unit staff. The Director will assist investigators in grant submissions.

The Director will provide guidance and recommendations for the growth and development of a research unit that is fiscally responsible and addresses the strategic plans of the organization.

Position Requirements

Experience and Skills

  • 5+ Years: Demonstrate a sound theoretical and hand’s-on knowledge of the field of clinical research inclusive of planning, executing and analyzing clinical research trials; performing protocol and site feasibility (Required)
  • Experience demonstrating program and resource management across multiple projects, as well as proven leadership abilities (Required)
  • Required Skills: Excellent Communications Skills, Excellent Interpersonal Skills - Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships across all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Publisher, Microsoft Word and familiarity with use of statistical analytic software.
  • *High School Diploma or GED (Required)
  • 4 year / Bachelor's Degree (Required) Life or Health Science or Nursing Master's Degree (Preferred)
  • Masters or PhD level training with experience in research design and analysis or clinical epidemiology (Preferred)

Certification and Licensure Requirements

  • BLS CERTIFICATION (Required)
  • Certification as a Clinical Research Professional (preferred)
