Description Reading Hospital, due to extensive growth and community need, is seeking a Dual Fellowship Trained Cerebrovascular/Endovascular Neurosurgeon. Endovascular and open vascular procedures available; strong interest in supporting the Comprehensive Stroke Program needed; willingness to perform general neurosurgery as well as participate in trauma call to join our experienced and skilled team in our highly respected and stable neurosurgical practice that has served Berks County for nearly six decades.

THMG Spine and Brain Neurosurgery is a hospital-owned practice consisting of four BC neurosurgeons serving one of the fastest-growing counties in Pennsylvania with a population of more than 410,000. Surgical volume consists of spinal, brain and peripheral nerves. The ideal candidate must be willing to participate in general neurosurgery and trauma call (call is 1:4; going to 1:6 with new surgeons).

We are currently underway with developing a Neuroscience Center in response to the expanding Neurology volume and the growing patient requirements. In the last 2+ years, the health system has hired 13 Neurologists and 2 Neurosurgeons. Currently an advanced Primary Stroke Center, we are aggressively developing a Comprehensive Stroke Program. The Neuro ICU is staffed with Neuro Intensivists and our newest Endovascular Neurosurgeon joined the team in the summer of 2016. The stroke program is driven by the busiest Emergency Department in PA with over 133,000 visit per year.

MD or DO; Candidates must be licensed/eligible to practice medicine in Pennsylvania and BE/BC in endovascular and open vascular procedures; fellowship required.
